Cover

The ‘Galloper’ has plenty of seating inside the heated wheelhouse. Is also equipped with spray covers, to protect our anglers and their gear while travelling or in rainy weather. In the galley area she has a large kettle ready for the skipper to make tea or coffee for you all day long.

In addition, is fully licensed and insured up to 60 miles. From a safe haven carrying all of the appropriate safety equipment for up to 10 passengers and two crew. Please note not all charter boats are licenced for this far and some operate without a licence.

If you go to sea on an unlicensed charter boat or on a charter boat working beyond its licence you won’t be insured. Is unlikely to have the appropriate safety equipment should anything go wrong.

Brightlingsea is such an ideal port for charter fishing. There are several other boats working from here and we all work together really well. This along with the many sheltered areas we fish makes us a popular venue for multiple boat bookings and competitions.

A brief history of Scott Belbin -The Skipper

Having fished since I could walk. Started earlier if I had been allowed. Although I have dabbled at netting, my real passion is for angling. Enjoying any type of fishing from catching minnows in small streams and brooks to tope in the North Sea.

I was brought up on my dads’ charter boat’s and spent most of my spare time fresh water fishing. Although i prefer sea fishing because there’s no telling what will come out next.

I have been taking boats out since I was about 12 years old when my brothers and I bought an Orkney Longliner. I soon got hooked on the freedom of the open sea. At the age of 14 my dad let me take the ‘RAZORBILL’ out. This got me more confident with the trips. However, I decided to take my Yacht Masters Offshore Qualification which I did at the age of seventeen.

Running the ‘Razorbill’ for my dad gave me my first taste of being a charter skipper. I have now been a fully licensed and Insured charter skipper. Skipper over a decade which along with my upbringing gives me a great deal of knowledge and experience.

I am still obsessed with fishing and spend most of my holidays fishing. Either coarse fishing or sea fishing in other parts of the UK. I like to think this combined with being a coastguard rescue officer for over a decade help to make me a good charter skipper.
