today we had a little better weather with some great sun and a great group of lads from the crouch sea anglers aboard.we gave the lads the choice to stay inshore for more cod but a smaller average or out a little further with the hope of better quility.the lads decided and we headed a little further to one of our 'inshore' marks for better cod and some roker. on the first cast we were into a roker and this was soon followed by another roker and soon enough a cod. as ever the lads were kept busy with dogfish and whiting and there were so many whiting there quite often the lads didnt realise they had them on. well barry had exactly this happen and then a cod about 5-6lbs grabbed the whiting and he caught both! high water came and went and we carried on catching both cod and roker consistantly throughout the day. after the tide had been ebbing about an hour steve struck into a fish which was obviously a btter fish. it went very well and he did a great job of playing it up as this was only his second time sea fishing. the fish was going really well, it was right bellow the rod tip and shaking its head well. it soon apeared out of the murky water and was in the net. i put it striaght on the scales and it went 9.8lbs and is now our biggest so far this year. soon after that ken pulled out a nice bass about 3lbs to finish his day up nicely. by the end of the day we had totalled 18 cod with and average of 5-7lbs and a biggest of 9.8lbs. we also had 10 roker, and a load of whiting and dogfish. just look at the picture to see how nice the cod were im sure the cod are now on there way here. we still have a few spaces so please see our avialable dates page to see if any suit you.
