I had a tope trip with some individuals today. Four of the lads I knew from work and another lad called Wayne was joining them for the day. The weather was great, after a misty start the sun burned off the mist and left some sunshine to warm the day up. We started off getting mackerel for bait, we took a while as they were a little patchy but we got enough after a while. We were soon fishing for tope and after no joy on our first mark we had a short move and were soon into our first tope. Jason was pleased with his PB tope although it wasn't masive at around 18lbs. We fished on and although Jason had 2 more runs the others didn't see any tope runs. We had some doggies etc until we were getting ready to go and and Jason had (yet another) tope run he struck the fish and after taking a few strips of line it broke the line! We will never know how big that one was, never mind.
