what to bring

what to bring

we usually depart from 6.30am-7.30am and return between 4.30 and 5.30 pm. this can be adjusted to suit your needs should you hire the whole boat or may be changed to suit tidal conditions.

please remember to bring some money for the car park (around £3)

we do not permitt the consumption of alcholol or illegal substances aboard the boat. while you are on the boat you are my responsability and i am in charge.

if you so wish then all you have to bring with you for your days fishing is lunch. we can supply all of the other neccisary items like fishing tackle, bait and tea/ coffee.

however some of you who are more experienced may wish to bring your own gear as i understand how everybody has their favourite tackle and this is also fine.

wether you are experienced or not my sugestion to every body is that its worth briging along some of these other items as they may be usefull.

suntan lotion as the sun can be very bright on the water and its all too easy to get sun burnt.

a hat is worth bringing to keep the sun off of your face in the summer and to keep you warm in the winter.

if you wish to take some fish home then its probably worth bring some bags along and having a cool box in the car to stop the juices leaking into your boot.

what to wear

what to wear

the weather on the boat can be at either extreme end of the temperature scale. in the summer it can some times too hot to handle and its always worth bringing shorts.however even in the summer it can be cold and so i would always suggest bringing the following.

a hat to keep you warm

a water proof coat in both the summer or winter it isnt worth getting wet and you dont have to wear it.

some gloves in the winter to try and stop your hands getting cold although it is worth remembering that when wet most gloves dont work.

some thick socks to save getting cold feet as cold feet can ruin a days fishing.

some wellies and this is a very important one even in the summer. if you dont have wellies then some sort of boots as by their very nature boats do end up with water on them either when washing down or splashes while travelling and cold feet arnt woth having.

its always worth wearing layers of clothing as this both stops the wind and keeps you warm.its also easy to remove layers and always remember that if you wearing them they can be removed where as if you dont have them with you then you cant put them on.
